Taiwan produces amazing array of gadgets . I stumbled across one at the Sim Lim Square equivalent during my recent trip ....

Pros: It plays every possible format known to Mankind - MKV, TS, rmvb. It requires a 2.5" SATA disk and it costs only 130 SGD. It has a TV-like remote control

Cons: It does not support HDMI (only Component)  and goes up to only 720p  ; the casing gets really hot !!
